Amos Lawrence 1865-1927, started the four generations of great quality builders. One of the homes he built in his generation, built with pegs, is still standing today in Otway, NC.
Oliver Chadwick Lawrence (O. C. Lawrence) 1893-1970, built many houses and businesses in his generation. Some of these buildings include Stampers Jewelry Store, Downums Clothing Store, Potter's Dress Shop, which will be found on Front Street, Beaufort, NC. Some of the homes include the Rumley house, Bill Lewis House, Lesley Moore House, and the Monroe Gillikin House in which his daughter still resides today.
Roland D. Lawrence, Sr. born in 1922 worked in the family construction and building business until 1962 when he started his own company. Mr. Lawrence built many homes and businesses in Carteret County. One of the many buildings is the Davis Original Free Will Baptist Church in Davis, NC.
Roland D. Lawrence, Jr. was born in 1962, and as soon as he was old enough to hold a hammer he began learning the business. In 1984, Roland D. Lawrence & Son was incorporated and the family tradition of quality craftsmanship continues today.
While his father still provides his expertise when called upon, he mainly enjoys relaxing ,and Roland, Jr. continues to serve many long-time customers as well as new customers. Whatever the need may be, we consider no job too small and no job too large. Our crew can fix a small repair, build a custom home, do home improvements, and the list goes on.
